Featured Arboretum People

Thanks to Phil and Amy Jean Knorr for their early vision and support of the Campus Arboretum through establishment of a generous endowment. 

The Taylor Family have been sustaining members of the Campus Arboretum since its formal establishment in 2002. They have established an endowment, contributed to many projects including the Matt Johnson Florilegium and provided friendship and support in innumerable ways.

Helen Barber has been a loyal supporter of the Campus Arboretum for many years - funding several key gardens, the desert plant conservatory and an indispensable part time staff member for several years.

Juan Barba is a Consulting and Working Arborist, who has served the Campus Arboretum and the arboriculture community throughout the southwest US. Sincere thanks for making a big difference to so many people and trees in Arizona!

Bob was among the first members of the Campus Arboretum Advisory Board. He served for nearly 10 years, giving generously of his time, funds and remarkable energy to arboretum projects. 

Martha Hawes was a University of Arizona Professor alongside her husband Prof. Hans Van Etten. Both were active in mentoring the Arboretum directors and contributing financially to support the program.  They personified the love of nature the arboretum aims to inspire and we are collectively grateful for their support and example. 

Mark is an internationally renowned horticulturalist and plant breeder. He has supported the Campus Arboretum for many years as a board member, an inspiration for the desert plant conservatory and as a guide on all things plant selection and care. 

Peter Price is a UA Alumnus who worked with the Campus Arboretum while he was an undergraduate and later, served on the Advisory Board during his Graduate studies at the UA. He gave generously of his time, talent and energy to support the arboretum.
