Geographic Origin: SW US, much of Mexico, excluding north-central MX, and Baja California. 

 

Characteristics: A small, clumping grass between 1-2ft (0.3-0.6m) in height. Flowers are arranged alternately on thin stems held above the plant. 

 

Natural History: Grows at elevations below 5000ft (1524m) on rocky hills, or along dry washes.

 

Cultivation Notes: Not commonly available in nurseries. Little info on cultivation available.
