Noteworthy Characteristics:

 

The fruit stimulates production of prolactin, which increases lactation in women. Athenian women used leaves and stems in their beds to remain chaste. The pepper-like berries are claimed to be an anaphrodisiac (suppresses libido), hence the common name of Monk’s pepper. There are also claims the fruit is an aphrodisiac!
