TOTW Cedrus atlantica

The blue atlas cedar was originally found in in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco and Algeria. This ornamental tree appears to grow in layers, and can have branches extending in any direction. Its light blue-green needles and unpredictable branch pattern make it a dramatic ornamental tree. In Africa, these trees are used to make ointments, shampoos, and medicinal tars, which can be used to remove warts. It has a soft but masculine, earthy, aroma and can also be used as cologne. This wide array of uses makes its utility almost as unique as its looks!
