Botanical Characteristics:

This conifer is small to medium in size with soft, needle-like leaves and older branches with a drooping appearance.

Medicinal Value:

Extracts have been found to prevent cathepsin B production which has been implicated in arthritis and certain cancers. It has been traditionally used to treat gout, ulcers, and toothaches. It has been used as a diuretic and an emmenagogue. In studies the extracts have also shown vasorelaxant effects.
