2011 Arbor Day Tour Kick Off

Student Tours Debut 2011

During the Spring semester of 2011, 8 undergraduate students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences worked tirelessly to create a series of new, public education tours for the Campus Arboretum. They designed tours to highlight themes of interest to the public and of relevance for the region. They wrote a complete report, drafted a script for training tour guides, created content and photographs for printed brochures and a promotional display board. To culminate their projects, students organized a series of public tours over a two week period between Earth Day and Arbor Day in which more than 500 people attended more than 30 tours. Special thanks to UA Sustainability for promoting the event during Earth Week!
