On September 3, 2004, the newly re-dedicated Herring Hall opened to house the office of the UA Campus Arboretum. Built in 1903, Herring is the second oldest building on campus. It harkens back to the early days of the Land Grant Institution, under which so many botanists and agriculturists explored the Sonoran Desert, investigated potential crops from arid lands, and worked to "civilize" the dusty University of Arizona in Tucson.

We invite you to stop in and learn more about the plants on campus, meet the Campus Arboretum staff, and pick up informational literature. Herring Hall is situated south of the Forbes (Agricultural) Building, which is directly south of Old Main (map). The Campus Arboretum office is just inside the front door.
