The Aleppo Pines were evaluated at a worth of $25,000 each – part of the University’s inventory of large trees. They had stood in the McKale lawn for over 30 years, shading the band, the sports fans, tailgaters, and neighbors. Saving them was one way to recognize their value to the eastern edge of campus. Each 13 ft box weighed 90,000 lbs. Civano Nursery did the work, and didn’t even drop one egg from the Cooper’s hawk nest in tree #3. Photos by E. Davison. Director - Elizabeth Davison
